I hang the models with picture hanging hooks...

I get non-maring hooks and nails made by OOK, at Home Depot. They use a thin nail that can be pushed through drywall like a thumbtack. Most 1:18 suspension pieces are strong enough to attach the hook and nail, then just push the car onto the wall. They only leave a tiny pinhole if you remove the hooks.
