People used to complain about initial quality on American cars. I usually tell people to stay away from the first year of American cars. What should we tell people about BMW? Should we tell them that owning the first year of a new BMW makes owning the first year of an American car seem like a party? Should we tell them not to buy a BMW until it's 3rd year of production? I'm trying to be safe since so many people ask the question.
Did anyone notice that we started this forum right after the introduction of the new 5 series and the new 7 series? It wasn't a coincidence. My personal email box and the webmaster email box was overflowing w/all the lemon law questions. For some reason those people are being quiet now. I know BMW makes buyers sign non-disclosure agreements when they have problems w/ their cars. I guess that's it.
Anyway, bottom line is if you buy a newly introduced BMW model today you're in for a world of pain. Sorry. :-(
