Jim - following up on TireRack's web tire info (478 views) (746 thread views)
Message: TireRack's reviews look good, based on sampling, but don't include much info on the vehicle I need tires for. '04 Honda Element, EX, normally runs FWD but has 4WD when the fronts slip. 215R70 on 16" OE wheels. I don't remember the OE tires, but currently have run 48K miles on Toyo A/T Open Country. Traction has been good enough for New England snow, "ice cream", rain, and dry-excellent conditions (and I want another all-season choice for that mix), but they're some noisy and definitely have higher rolling resistance than whatever the OE tires were. Consumer Reports and TireRack seem to have the only reviews of any sort, but neither provides details for this vehicle's combination of model and size. CR reviews look like Goodyear may have a top choice, TireRack came back with a suggestion for some Firestone type when I fiddled with the vehicle specs enough to get one (but it's not exactly the right set of specs for my vehicle). TireRack web tool mostly returns a msg like "no info available for the specs you gave, use different specs". Are you able to offer any suggestions? Thanks!
