FOOT BRAKE WARNING CHIME CONTINUES WHEN RELEASED (652 views) (1721 thread views) 
Message: I realease the footbrake lever and yet I am getting warning chimes & lights!! this has been so for a couple of months.

The problem has got worse. In the early days if you released the lever ever so slowly it would not occur. Now it happens every time and when the car is cold it takes about five minutes before it clears. I drive along with the lever pulled out! Then it doesn't happen.

The footbrake is disengaged for sure. My dealer told me it is a small box containing a switch, that need replacing at a cost of around $300. Anyone have any good ideas?
