My2001 BMW 3.0 is still running strong. (3297 views)
Message: Yesterday, I rode in a Cayman S and loved the way it handled and sounded. Very sweet ride. That's how I ended up here, as I'm already on the BMW forum and decided to investigate a Porsche Boxter S for owner's experiences, opinions, etc.

Perhaps, with all the blown engines and Porche's overall poor attitude towards it customers, you should try a BMW. I'm not here to stir-up the pot, but suffice to say that after 35K miles and absolutely no engine issues, my three liter motor is very well designed and built. It runs strong right up to 6500 RPM redline and is remarkably smooth.

On the BMW Z3 forum, I have not seen anyone with such issues as Porsche has with the blown Boxter engines, let alone Porsche's refusal to treat its customers with due respect.

As one who professionally raced in Formula Ford and Formula Atlantic, my Z3, despite chassis and suspension mods still leaves a bit to be desired from a handling standpoint; hence the interest in a Porsche Boxter S. They are simply terrific in many departments and my desire for one is still growing.

However, I am dismayed at the issues presented by the vehicle itself as well as Porsche's attitude (in general) concerning how to address its owner's complaints, etc.

Just my 2 cents worth. Will continue to think about a newer S in the future.
