| Message: | My recent experience with a whine was caused by a worn bearing in the tensioning roller for the balance shaft belt (the one you adjust down low on the engine). Also on the balance shaft belt, you may get a whine if the upper adjustable roller is set too close to the balance shaft belt. I have a 1988 NA 944, so it has a self-tensioner on the timing belt. Even so, if the bearing on the tensioner roller is worn, you can get a whine too. | ||||
