| Message: | Hi guys, I read the posts about this problem from like 5 years ago and have a question. I just bought a 1991 944S2 (3.0L) from a guy who had it for 10 years, seemed like he knew his way around the engine, and has a whining noise and slight vibration . The whining noise is available here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z7uz6L1Gexw And it is at every RPM The vibration is slight but noticeable around 3000-3500 RPM. I have some VERY old experience with the balance shafts being out of time, and I remember the engine vibrating the whole car like it was going to come out of the hood. This is slight, but noticeable. He had also changed the seals for the balance shafts and crank pulley, so i thought he might have reversed the gears and one shaft (the bottom one) might be 180 degrees off, but I would expect a much more violent vibration tan I am seeing. Any help? Could whatever is causing the whining also be causing the vibration? I have checked he timing and balance shaft timing and it is right on, correct, but I havent removed the gears to confirm one is not on the shaft 180, off. | ||||
