The early 944 is known for getting moisture in the drivers compartment.Usually it is 1 of 4 things as stated before,DME,DME Realy,reference sensors or the coil.I carry a spare DME relay in the glove box of both my 944s.As far as testing the DME,get in touch with me and we will be happy to test it for you.
