| Message: | If the DME relay is bad then the DME (computer) can't send a signal to the coil or to the fuel injectors. A car that won't start after sitting for a short while like at a gas station or overnight usually has an intermittent fault in the DME relay caused by heat soaking, moisture, etc. So replacing the relay is the easiest thing to try. You can also jump it in a pinch. Check Clark's Garage on the web to see how or check your Hayne's manual. The LED that one of the other posters mentioned is referred to as a "noid" light - you will need one for a Bosch injector. It won't tell you a lot unless you have eliminated every other problem, but probably a good tool to have. A couple of things to check on the reference sensors are the leads where the sensors attach to the bellhousing to make sure they are not broken or bare. Also the plastic connectors at the top rear of the cylinder head may be bad, crumbly, broken, corroded, etc. Also there is a ground at the rear of the cylinder head right below the sensor connectors and the heater hose connection. Check this for corrosion - if the heater hose has leaked over time it can get bad. A bad ground here may also cause a no-start. | ||||
