Message: Rust on the rear is really rare unless it has had previous collision repair.
These cars are well protected with several layers of rubber coating both inside the trunk, wheel wells and under the car.
I am no too sure where the seller is going with the wide body. The 944 fenders are are the result of using and adapting the body off the 924 Carrera GT turbo used in road racing.
Get the VIN number, that will be the tell-all. Then go this website.http://www.weissach.net/
It has all the specs and model numbers for each phase of the 944.
Send some pics of the car if possible. The rust could be a small issue
