| Message: | Not sure why I am writing this; maybe just to cry on someone's shoulder(s). Many of you who are regulars on this forum know that I am a 74 year old geezer who has owned a 1987 928S4 since it was brand new. The car has always been garaged and well maintained. I get a lot of people, still today, complimenting on the "nice car". Matter of fact, have you guys noticed how up-to-date the later 928s look compared to recent Corvettes, Mercedes and Porsches. Back when I purchased the car new, some idiots would comment that it looked like an AMC, primarily because the rear was somewhat wider because of the rear transmission. Now days, all the hot cars look that way. Getting back to my story, I had just pulled away from our parking lot, couldn't be moving faster than five mph when a fellow came out of an adjacent "Loaf and jug" convenience store and "tee-boned" me into the drivers-side rear wheel location. In the 22 years of owning the car, it has never had as much as a scratch and now I have a badly crushed rear quarter panel, a damaged wheel and a cracked windshield. I am very concerned about whether I will be able to get the insurance to fix it properly; haven't had someone evaluate it yet. Anybody out there who wants to share similar problems? | ||||
