Breather setup and electrical fan power (126 views) (332 thread views)
Message: 1987 928S4

I've been trying to figure this thing out for quite a while. The breather hose on the front of the camshaft cover on the passenger side plugs into a fitting on the cover and the other end sneaks under the fuel injector rack, supposedly to another fitting. However, there does not appear to be a fitting there and the hose is just hanging, giving me a lack of vaccum which, of course, messes up my cruise control and probably other things that I am not aware of. Using a dentist mirror I can see an opening there but no fitting. The opening appears to be looking inside some part of the engine, possibly near the camshafts but there is no oil around it as I would expect. Looking at the illustrated parts list, they show the hose attached to the cover but nothing on the other end and I can't find it on any other drawing. Being 74 years old, maybe my eyesight isn't as good as it used to be??

Recently my electrically driven fans stopped working. Not too big of a problem here in Wyoming since it is never too warm but I get a little fidgety when I have to wait in line anywhere. I have a multi-meter. Anybody who can suggest where I should look first.

Thanks guys. You're all a fountain of information.
