| Message: | I live in Arizona. The ambient temperature is 90-100 daily. The car has fresh coolant, new water pump, thermostat and properly functioning cooling fans and front flaps. The water temperature appears to run around the 200 degree mark (sometimes slightly over, other times slightly under, but never going into the red). At speeds of 75-80 mph and up grades in top gear with the A/C on, it sits right at the 200 degree mark, lowering somewhat on downgrades. It runs at slightly over the 200 degree mark around town in stop & go traffic with the A/C on around town. I recently purchased the car and am not familiar with what the correct reading should be. I want to be sure that I do not harm the engine. My shop indicated that this was normal, but I am old school and am not comfortable with hot running engines. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, -Eric 1990 928 GT. | ||||
