| Message: | | OK, no one had an idea for me so I headed 500 miles back home. Ran the GPS nav system on batteries and got my speed per RPM data so I didn't have to worry about getting pulled...(son, do you know how fast you were going? Well, actually officer, no). Turned the nav system off and only turned it on when the traffic got heavy or I had to drop down into lower gears. Plugged it into the cigar lighter a few times; no power light and the speedo dies. Got to within a couple of hundred miles from home, plugged it in and the power light on the nav system plug came on. Speedo worked and all was good again.
I'll be crawling behind the dash to investigate, but does anyone have any suggestions as to why this is happening? Doesn't seem like a loose connection should affect the speedometer or odometer.
