82 911 SC Electrical problem (166 views) (211 thread views)
Message: I have had a nagging problem that has been ever so intermintent. Ocassionally my SC would just die. It was not related to heat or fuel running conditions or any thing else that I could find. Sometimes after a few minutes the car would start up and run again for days before acting up again. It always seemed to fix itself but with no regularity. The Clue to fixing it came when I noticed that right before the car died the tach died first. My Bentley Service manual has excellent wiring diagrams and the only place the CDI and tach crossed was at the ignition switch. I jumped the connections to check and see if that could be the culprit and it seems that was it. So simple yet I overlooked it because the problem did not last long enough to really dianose it. Thought someone might have a similar problem sometime and this might help.
