Re: Victory Motors - honest and reliable (3728 views)
Message: This just screams of another one of his tricks to cover his poor rep on these boards... the same post was left on pelican here was my reply there....

This is getting pretty sad. Robert was already caught posting as a “satisfied customer” on another Porsche web board. I would bet this is just another case of him trying to repair what’s left of his reputation. I wonder if our gracious host can track down this London guys IP address, in private of course, thus ending the mystery.

He’s been busted on other boards for posting as a phony customer, there are dozens of stories here and elsewhere of nightmare deals, he’s rep on eBay shows that he pays off people to retract negative comments. What else needs to be said? If he has a car you really want just proceed with EXTREME caution, and don’t believe a word he says.

Recently in one of the U.K. 911 magazines in their letters section someone asked about importing a US car to the U.K. because of the somewhat favorable exchange rates. The editors response was that it’s flat out a bad idea unless it’s a very rare model, none of which the editor even bothered to mention. In fact the letter asked specifically about a 964 if I recall correctly and editor listed several reasons that made it a really bad idea. Looking at Robert’s prices we all know no one is getting a hot deal from him. Based on that alone I would conclude Robert is indeed “londondriver”.

There are a couple of regulars on this board who are in the business of selling Porsches second hand and IMHO are reputable stand up guys. Shops like VM give used car salesman a really bad name IMHO.
