| Message: | | My friend has an M3, and I have the 911, we were able to drive up at Streets of Willow. The M3 has some very nice traits to the car, It's shifter is shorter (though not as sturdy as the 911's), it has very similar power. It is every bit as fast as my car. However I felt the steering and handling wasn't nearly as good as the Porsche. It just felt muted. In the Porsche you felt every bit of the track, and the traits were just more precise. The sound of the engine just wasn't as aggressive as my car. I know it was fast because I was looking at the tack, and the speedo but it just didn't feel as fast as my car. After driving my car my friend said he absolutely loved it, and it was "a level" above his. I think they are both superb everyday cars, just very different feeling. If I was looking for bang for the buck the Porsche doesn't make sense. If you are looking for a visceral & handling experience I would go for the Porsche.
