Hello all Porsche family. I have a 1971 Porsche 911 that I am restoring as a daily driver. I have been using it and recently my clutch peddle went to the floor. I though it was perhaps the cable because I had upgraded the clutch adjuster system to the aluminum from the plastic which broke on me once. As I check the system out I fould that the fork was loose and assumed the worst. Larry, my mechanic, droped the engine and discovered that the pivot had broken off. Easy enough to fix but he questioned why it broke.
We discovered that on the trans the guide was broken off at the top. He and I both are asking how important is this guide? To find one may be difficult at best. Any work arounds?
