1974 911 question and shipping question (67 views) (94 thread views)
Message: Hi All: I'm really sorry for the newbie questions--I've never owned a Porsche. I've been interacting with a guy about his 1974 Porsche 911 that was 'transformed.' Here's the specific text:

"The Porsche started out life as a clean 1974 911s then shortly under went the transformation. All steel body parts were installed (the wide quarters, wide fenders, Euro bumpers, spoilers, whale tale ect.). The car has original 930 turbo rims. I had Corbeau racing seats put in which give you a real comfortable ride and look great! The engine and tranny of the car were dropped out and had $15,000 dollars worth of work done. Including but not limited to new valve guides, seals, gaskets, battery, clutch(which is super tight and lifts off the floor!), exhaust(sounds absolutely amazing), breaks, shocks and rotors. Unlike most 911's this one leaks no oil at all! but does use some. The engine is a clean air cooled dream."

What do you think something like this is worth? He says $20k. The paint is perfect with no scratches and only two minor spots of rust on the tail. What's a good price and what are some expenses I might expect from a car this age?

Also, who have you all used for shipping? Who provides the cheapest and yet safest way to ship cars?

Thanks in advance for all the help.
Sam
