Anyone know anything about last 80 1st gen 930's??

As most of you know the original 930 stopped production in 1979 in the US and did not return until 1986. Albeit a more neutered car when it returned but all the same a 930. It has recently been brought to my attention that 80 late production year 1979 cars were actually 1980 official USA models built before production ceased but built as 1980 models and not 1979 as most people originally thought. I found out that mine was one of them through trying to source parts. My production date was 10/79. I would be curious if anyone knows any more official details on these cars and what vin they started with for the last 80 and what they ended at so I could figure where I was in the mix. I had heard this years ago but until it was brought to my attention again I thought it was a myth. Thank you.
