| Message: | Are they legit? A real Porsche Speedster in excellent restored condition is going to cost you about $250,000 dollars American. That's $250 thousand dollars. A quarter of a million dollars. How many of us can afford that? On the other hand, the replica's are built mainly of VW parts. Guess who designed the VW's? Doctor Porsche himself. BEFORE he designed the 356. Guess what engine the 356's used in the beginning? The VW four banger typically used in most replicas today. Who owns VW today? The Porsche family thru Porsche AG. The two cars, VW and Porsche, could hardly be more closely related. People have pointed out that the only thing wrong with the 911 (which grew out of the original VW design) is that it has been so damn successful that Porsche kinda has to continue the design whether they want to or not. IE Boxer and Cayman. Dr. Porsche's design is still selling like hotcakes 60 years later! Are the 356 replicas legit?? I THINK SO!!! | ||||
