| Message: | Some here know that I have given up cars - only for a little while - to help with my daughters crew team. Now I do not coach, or work out, I take pictures and do the gofor stuph. The Virginia State Championships were last Saturday. McLean High School sent ten boats. We had two boats place Third (18 Bronze Medals), one boat place Second (9 Silver Medals) and three boats claim the State Championship (14 Gold Medals). Below are the pictures of my daughter's boat (the one in the bow hiding behind the medal) showing the new hardware ![]() D-70; Sigma 120-300 set to 220mm; Aperture priority; f3.5,1/320 sec distance between first and second: ![]() nikon D-70S, nikor 17-55 set to Manuel mode; 17mm, f2.8, 1/640 Sec one of our men's boats in action: ![]() nikon D-70, Sigma 120-300 set to 300mm; Aperture priority, f3.5, 1/400 sec photo critic in action: ![]() nikon D-70, Sigma 120-300 set to 300mm; Shutter priority, f32, 1/13 Sec The Sigma is a new to me (used) toy. I can't wait to take it to a autocross or race. It weighs a ton and has enough glass at the front end to build a large house (105mm filter size). It is old school glass but good in low light. | ||||
