| Message: | After 7 years of MINI ownership, I sold my beloved '03 S. Ready to embark upon ownership of a Clubman S, I attempted to make a purchase at three separate MINI stores without success due to MINI's has a corporate attitude of disinterest. For 7 years I accepted having to travel 30 miles to a my dealer for service, endured a sunroof and dash that rattled, and a few electrical gremlins that would mysteriously come and go. I lived with these "problems" and accepted them since the car was so much fun. Dealer #1 where I bought my first MINI, didn't so much as even take my name and number. Dealer #2 never followed-up after my last contact with the salesman when I told him I would be in at the end of the week to order the car. It was then I started considering alternatives/other cars. But up until last Friday I was still considering a new MINI, and was ready to pop $29,000+ for a Clubman S demo from Dealer #3, 330 miles away, but couldn't get a return call from the dealer (I left 4 messages). I expressed my disappointment to the dealers and MINI and got only corporate-speak in return. MINI: "Dealers are independently owned." Dealer #1 "We let the cars speak for themselves." MINI lost an enthusiastic 7 year owner to corporate and dealer arrogance. | ||||
