| Message: | Since last weekend, I have the Service Engine Soon light on with a code P2096 on my 03 MCS (95Kmiles at the moment). It points to post-cat O2 sensor and says that fuel system is running lean. The exhaust tips are black and there is no indication that the car is running lean. Mileage is the same as before (26-27 mpg). I dont have any mods except the 15% pulley. After reading few threads on NAM about P2096, it seems that the first thing to try is a software update to redefine the parameters. If the code comes back, then look for mechanical problems with cat, exhaust, intake, O2 sensor, etc. Does this sound reasonable? Should I approach it differently? I have to get this sorted out relatively soon because I need a smog test before 6/14 to be able to register the car (great timing). Thanks in advance for any inputs on this. | ||||
