| Message: | | I am referring to the in-bumper fog lights. It is quite daunting to install, but I managed to get it all in, although I had to splice an extension wire to reach the BCM b/c Mini makes the harness so that no slack is allowed whatsoever. I am not really keen on the grille mounted driving lights, but thanks for the info. As far as the halos go, I bought an after market set of fogs that have the halos already installed, as I didn't want to chop open the factory fogs and install the individual halo rings myself. The harness that came with the after market fogs would not really allow me to easily hook them up to the toggle panel, so I bought the factory fogs with the intent of having them programmed and then replacing the lights themselves with the after market lights. After all, it seems to me that the only two wires going to the lights themselves are the power and ground wires. That should be easy enough to switch. The halo LEDs are wired separately, so I just have to separate those wires out of the after market harness and I can wire them to their own switch that I will likely mount on the dash so I can turn them on independently. When I get around to installing the halo projector headlights, I can splice the wires for the halos into the same switch so that both the fog and headlight halos can be turned on together with their own switch. I don't really want to wire the halos into the parking lights because that would reduce the visual effect of the halos, IMO. However, if someone wanted to do the same thing as I have and also have the halo parking lights installed, they could wire all three halos into the parking lights. When I get the lights programmed and they are working, I will post a DIY on NAM. First, I need to get the alarm installed before I go get them coded. The headlights will have to wait for next month.
