| Message: | I have just bought a 2001 MINI (UK). 36,000 miles. I am getting the coolant changed, brakes looked at - they're spongy, even after a garage has supposedly changed the brake fluid, gearbox oil changed (I always do when I buy a second hand car, no matter what the mileage)and I expect that this could cost £500, i.e. about $1000. You have to look at it as your investment in reliability and your own safety for the next 20,000 miles. Why is it when people buy new cars they expect to pay nothing more in terms of major servicing, or are loathed to pay more than $500? | ||||
