55-60,000 mile service 03 Mini - The MINI Cooper Forum

I recently purchased a 2003 Mini with 58,000 miles. The dealership told me it was due for a major service at 55,000-60,000 miles.

I was told the service would be $924.00 and include a tune up with plugs and wires and a trans service along with what they called a major inspection.
Has anybody had any exp with this type of service. I also called several independant shops but was told they would not work on mini's.

Please help I don't want to spend a $1,000.00
