| Message: | out of a set of tires, regardless of brand, on the S, and the dealer says they'll give you 80% original tire cost due to only 20% tire wear................. Jump on it whether you end up going with a runflat or not! Original cost of those has to be close to $275 each. Heck if you shop around you can get 2 sets for the 80% . I've never heard the issue before and frankly have a tough time believing that if the tires didn't fit the dealer would admit anything like that, since they are OEM tires. Please don't read that as I'm questioning you; I just find it hard to imagine a dealer would admit this - true or not. I've got the Dunlop 9000's on the wife's 05 MCS and plan on keeping the runflats on that car. Only so I don't have to worry about her getting stranded somewhere. BTW, she ripped through the fronts at about 13k and I had already picked up another set (used) and the plan is to move backs to front and replace backs and then start a 5k rotation program until all 4 need replacing at the same time. On my car I've done away with the runflats long ago, about 100k miles ago, and I run a H rated tire in a +1 size application to get a little more tread life. I picked the Fuzion HRi and I'll have over 40K on these before I replace them. Please keep us updated, interested in seeing how this turns out.
