| Message: | | vw always overdamps their suspensions, to me it feels like driving a pillow (a firm pillow in case of gti, but a pillow nevertheless). vw does have the edge on power but as far as driving enjoyment goes to me the mini wins hands down. also, mini has much more character in my opinion. i test-drove a new 2.0l 200hp gti recently and while it's better than the 1.8l it replaces the overall verdict is still the same. a friend is getting one, it will show up a month after my mini and we'll definitely run the cars back to back on the track, with GPS datalogging and all. so if you can wait a couple of months, check www.dpcars.net in early may and there should be a pretty definitive comparison :)
