| Message: | Like you I tried Autotrader and the local paper. Got a few calls and I was asking between retail and private party price according to Kelly Blue Book. Here is what I ended up doing: I went back to my dealer, MINI of Towson, to see what they would give me. I have a Cabrio due to be delivered in about a week. They offered me $13K. I drove about 3 miles up the road to CarMax. They offered me $15K cash on the spot. I sold it immediately. Granted mine was a Cooper, not an S, and it had 39K miles on the clock. It was in pristine shape and loaded with leather, sunroof, etc. Bottom line: Used MINIs in some areas of the country are not selling for what they are selling in other areas. If you are desperate to sell, find a CarMax and give them a try. If your car has ANY body damage or evidence of body work, they may not buy it. Also, if you have any mods to the engine, they will probably not be interested. Mine had a Borla exhaust on it and almost soured my deal, but after they drove it, and checked the fit, they did buy it. Still, I had the car for almost 3 years, spent $0 on it and sold it for 75% of what I paid. I don't know of another car that will do this well. Good luck.
