| Message: | Let's assume you have runflats, and do get a flat.... they are designed to be driven on safely with zero air pressure, but it IS possible to damage them in such a way as to make them unuseable. In the rare case that this happens you are in the same boat as those of us who but standard tires. Like others have said, I replaced my stock Pirelli Euphoria's with a set of BF Goodrich KDW/2's..... cost for the complete set was less than just two tires from the dealer, they ride better and perform FAR FAR better.... with the money I saved I bought a can of fixaflat and a compact air compressor. Since the MCS doesn't have a jack, mine is an early '02, a spare wouldn't do me any good anyway - so that's what roadside assistance is for. In the years I've been driving, I've only had one flat tire.... so it's not a huge issue for me. Factor in the fact that runflats for our cars are SPECIAL ORDER items and NOT stocked by your average tire shop, getting a more standard sized non-runflat tire is a good thing. KoolMINI had his runflat go flat on the way down from NY to the Tail of the Dragon rally in 2003, and when it went bad it went very bad - undriveable. The nearest replacement tire was something like 3 states away and wouldn't get delivered for days.... not a problem for standard tires, in a more normal size. ![]() | ||||
