"what should i be looking for when buying an R107?= a Mercedes-Benz Buyer's Guide at any book store a 1977 up-to 1979 450SL/SLC any 500 or 560 SL/SLC 1990/1 300SL (newer body)is a beauty with stick shift if you can find one ......" and what should make me run a mile ?" = ANY & ALL 380 SL/SLC avoid 1976 and earlier SL/SLC's because of very tired injection (electronic and CIS) systems, very hot running converters mounted up high as exhaust manifolds, very tired Air Injection, and EGR systems, low compression, and generally poor performing US Emission laden motor spec. and generally any 'Gray Market' cars - non-USA cars that were converted to US Federal Emission and Safety Regs. Most done very poorly, and then add 20 years of neglect and non-factory parts - you have a MESS ! any rust or non-original paint, and body repaired cars any car lacking a filled in Maintainece Booklet, with 1" thick folder of repair reciepts - you want to see no breaks in time or mileage for maintanence. any car missing the USA Standard hard-top hard tops were included with every SL from 230, 250, 280, 450, 500, 560 sold in the US Happy hunting | ||||
