| Message: | So I have this friend who is down on his luck. His car goes off lease and he winds up with a 81 380 SL with a bad water pump. I'm trying to help, but can't believe some of what I'm seeing. We have this bolt on the bottom of the pump that can't clear even the notch that is in the vibration dampener. Do you really have to pull the pullies? And can you leave that 27 mm bolt in place? Also the distibutor hold down stud. tried turning that and the casting started to crack. Is this reverse thread or something? Any tips would be greatly appreciated. I'm a BMW guy, so sort of out of my element. Thanks in Advance, Greg greg_arkus@hotmail.com | ||||
