It is possible to retrofit the new DVD COMAND to existing SLs.

The cost of the parts in Germany is:

- MB COMAND with DVD Navigation EUR 5.500,00
incl. all computer units and wires.

- add. charge for installation of TV Tuner EUR 1.800,00

- CD changer EUR 980,00

- MB mobile EUR 1.850,00

The reason you need a new CD changer is that the new system uses a fibre-optics rather than electrical link, so you will end up with a spare CD changer you can fit to an older Merc.

A specialist like Brabus can do the fitting. The work would take about three days and may cost as much as 2,000 EUR. All prices are before VAT.
