Message: Yes, I agree with the comments on handling although the sheer bulk for the car makes it a pretty minor difference. How on an earth is it just as fast as a 500SL? It's lacking 2 litres of capacity and around 100bhp and is arounf 2 seconds slower to 60mph and around 7 seconds slower to 100mph. Why would Mercedes have sold the SL500 if it was now slower? The 300SL is a fine car but the SL500 or 500SL (depending on the year) is a faster car.
