Hey Guys,
I have a 2000 MB S430. I know those of us with the early years of this body really get hosed on the NAVI and stereo options. In particular changing the head unit is not an option because of the stupid abnormal shape.
I would really like to add SAT radio XM or Sirius but dont want to do it with a FM modulator. A direct digital hookup is such a better way to go for sound quality. What have you guys done? Guide me and help me here? What unit how much did you spend? I am in Orange County CA so lots of Car Stereo places around, so that's good. I fear the FM modulator will end up being my only reasonable option.......also if you figured out a way to add an ipod with a direct hookup that would be super helpful as well.
So far this is my only real regret about getting this car. It now has 67K miles (had it six months), black with tan leather, 19 chrome AMG rims, upgraded side mirrors, taillights and headlights. Probably will need to re-do the leather on the driver seat pretty soon the rest of the interior is damm nice.
Are there any groups that get together to talk about MB cars, show em off to each other etc?
