| Message: | | I too had a wheel shake problem. It started at 43mph, most prevalent at 47 mph, and dissipated or became less noticeable at around 60mph. Still there, but barley noticeable. At 47, when you let go of the wheel, it would shudder or bounce the steering wheel back and forth at a fairly rapid pace. It was like this when I bought the car used. Strangley enough, it was not always so noticeable. Some kind of sync thing. Temp maybe? Not sure. Always there but sometimes weak and sometimes strong, so strong I took the car to Discount Tire and had them rotated and balanced. Got the car back, and still.. Exact same problem. I took the car to a totally different Discount Tire store, Paid them to rotate and balance the tires. The car did have meaty Michelin MXV Energy Tires on it that looked new. Anyway, that discount tire rotated and balanced and returned the car to me. I did notice the weights and tires had been moved. Still.. Exact same problem. I called Star Tech Mercedes of Denver and told them of the problem. I figured I had a bent rim, or Rotor out of balance or lose part or something. I was prepared to have some front end parts replaced since I do have almost 70,000 miles on this car.. Sandor called me and reported the problem to me. The Tires are out of balance.. Really? Huh? So.. Star Tech Mercedes balanced the tires and returned the car to me. It drives so smooth and so nice now. I still do not get it. How can Discount Tire not be able to balance my tires? I took it to 2 different Discount tire Centers and had it done. I do not get it. I do get this. I will not take any of my cars to Discount Tire again. Not ever. I have lost confidence in those people and those stores.. My Mercedes is fixed.. Yes !!!
