G55 vs. G500? (1049 views) (1041 thread views) 
Message: I'm new to this forum, so pardon my stupid nuub questions. I'm usually over in the BMW forums...

I've been looking at used G-Wagons, I love the truck's design and I think it's destined to be a collectors item. I've only driven one so far, a 2004 G55 AMG. I loved the truck, but my wife wasn't thrilled about 2 things: the ride, and the seats. I don't think the ride would have been such an issue, if the seats weren't hard as a rock. The issue is that we already own 2 less than comfortable sports cars and want to pick up a better riding SUV for long trips.

My questions are:
1- Is the G500 more wife-friendly - smoother ride, better seats, etc.?
2- Are the seats an issue that got better in later models?
