| Message: | Thanks for your reply c.d.iesel. I took a look under the hood with a flashlight and counted 3 belts. There is what looks to be one missing belt which would be the one right behind the belt that is on the water pump assembly. Looks like there should be (2) identical belts that go around those pullys. The one behind the front belt is missing. Also looks like you are right about the strands from the v belt. That makes sense. The fan is tight..no looseness or flopping against the water pump etc. Engine sounds the same as usual etc. The A/C is working, car still runs the same..operating temp is the same etc. Would you know if one of the two belts that broke operates anything else? does it serve another purpose aside from alternator? Since nothing else seems affected by this belt breaking? Thanks alot for your advice! jb | ||||
