| Message: | hello, I search the forum, found sone infos but not similar to my problems... I need some help regarding my 1988 300TE. (160K miles on the engine, recently replaced: ignition lock , battery , alternator, water pump, radiator, fuel pump relay) The issue: Recently my car's engine dies frequently at stop. When I come to a stop, the engine just dies, no hiccup, no shuddering, nothing... I did this for a couple weeks then the check engine light came on and stays on... The problem: I take it to the mechanic and he said that I need to replace the air flow sensor (located under the air filter box). H told me that the senor can be replaced by itself, it must must be replace with the air flow housing and such as a whole unit, cost is $1200.00 new / $ about $700.00 used (without labor). I don't believe it.... Could any one tell me is it true or not? Is it possible to replace the air flow sensor only and what pary number to order? many thanks in advance... | ||||
