190D Couple ?'s (121 views) (188 thread views)
Message: I bought a 190D a year or so ago.I haven't done much to it but driven it a little. It's gotten a bit hard to start especially when cold.I'm thinking it may need new glow plugs. Are they hard to change and where is a good source for quality ones? The car only has 78,000 original miles on it and it was owned by the proverbial little old man who drove it from his garage to work (covered parking lot) and home. It's in great shape except for athe starting issue and a couple of minor cosmetic problems.
I am also curious about exterior mirrors. The ones on the car are "Dinky" and I can barely see anything out of them.I may just be spoiled by having driven full sized pick-up,vans, and panel trucks with plenty of mirror. Are the mounting points for the mirrors the same as on other models?I found a set in the auto recyclers that are in great shape and on a 300 series. The mounting area looks the same size but i wasn't sure if they would fit. Thanks in advance for any help you guys can give.
