| Message: | After a complete compression test, with all but #7 being pretty much 120, and 90 for #7, I did a cooling system pressure test and could hear fluid escaping from under the carbs. Really did not desire to tackle the job but what the heck, I have taken on a lot worse. Pulled the carbs in the "airbox?" where they all are housed, and pulled it to the drivers side. Lots of little things to undo, but not any more than some other vehicles I have seen. I must admit, the quality of the assemblies (most) are first rate, and never have I taken apart anything with NO really stuck nuts, or bolts. Someone took their time and pride in building this engine. You can see from the pics, that there was a visibly seeping hose on the passenger side rear, back where there is some sort of pump on the rear of the back of the cam, and of course the "O" rings from the intake manifold to both heads. (you can see the cracks) Now to order a bunch of gaskets, and a LOT of hoses. Going to replace anything I can that is cracked. (everything) Heater valve? Looks like an old Chrysler valve. 1990 750iL 1991 850iA 1973 3.0CS | ||||
