Why are so many used Elises for sale

Can anyone tell me why I'm seeing so many of these cars come up for resale with less than 5K on them. I'm interested in selling my Milleneum 996 to buy one, but I'm wondering if folks are finding them too small to be every day drivers....or worse having too many problems to make the car worth dealing with. Any thoughts?
