Check eng warning on 97 XK8 (archive)

My 'check eng' warning came on 2 days ago. Engine has 24K miles and runs fine even with the warning displayed. This happened once before a few months ago and went off by itself after a few days of driving. Any ideas on something I can do to fix this situation?
