The section of the Drivers Handbook that deals with Exterior Features details the procedure for manual closure of the convertible top. That will at least get it closed. You may well have to go to the dealer to have them get it operating again.
If you don't have a Drivers Handbook email me and I'll send you the instructions.

Can anyone help with advise? I tried to put the top up on my XK8 but had a towel in the way on the windshield. Now the top will not move either way. It is 2 inches from being closed. All the fuses are OK.
