My dealer charges me $65 for an oil change which I still think is pretty steep. $2.50 for a quart of oil that you can buy for $1.49 at any store. If you have it done at an independent just keep your receipts, make sure its a good oil filter (I would bring my own) and your factory warranty will not be affected.

I recently bought a '99 XK8. The dealer tells me it is due for an oil service and quoted ***$350*** for not much more than a $30 Jiffy Lube job. Yes, I do get new wiper blades with that, but who cares when you live in CA.

Can anyone tell me if there are any issues with getting an oil change anywhere other than with the dealer? Are there any warranty issues? $350 is pretty steep every 5000 miles.
