Just trolling around the boards on Roadfly. Seriously considering an XKR coupe (black, Detroit 20s, etc) to replace my blue 850i. As part of my due diligence, I'm listening to the problems that arise here. So far, nothing major, although this Nikasil issue has me a bit concerned. My E31's been darned reliable and I want to ensure I receive the same level of quality with the Jag.

By the time you get back into E31s, an 850CSi will be in your price range. They're down in the 40s right now for 50-70K mile creampuffs. Dropping like rocks due to competition from cars like the XKR and Z8.

p.s. How's the tech CDs for these cars? Won't buy an XKR without service manual support.
