Jaguar is seriously on their 9th revision of the timing chain and tensioners for the XK8? Do you have any way to prove this? How would someone know if they are buying the latest part number revision? If Jaguar is up to the 9th revision then they are fully aware of a manfacturing problem and Jaguar should replace this part even if a car is no longer under warranty.Byron,
Jaguar are now up to their 9th revision on the upper timing chains, the problem normally happens with the Left (drivers side US) of the engine, there is a carbon Pad on top of the chain tensioner (cam timing chains) which comes adrift, we've seen several of them...
