The 100 watts would really tax the wiring and probably should be avoided without proper relays and wiring. There are plenty of aftermarket 55 watt bulbs putting out equivalent of 100 w halogen bulbs.

Hi, I'm looking to install hyperwhite headlights (H-1's) and was wondering if anyone knew if I could install 80 or 100 watt bulbs to replace the existing 55 watt bulb without damaging the wiring, etc. Thanks.
