I still have not solved the problem with my xk8, 7/2001. I balanced the front and rear wheels 18 '' but this did not help. The dealer says after measuring the vibrations that they are within the limit set by Jaguae Europe. I am very annoyed about his problem, since 120 - 130 km/h is the most common spped friven on German motorways and i have this steering wheel bouncing permanantly. The rest of the car is perfect. No problems on the 12000 km I drove it so far.
Has anyone come up with a definitive answer to the wheel shimmy problem. This is the only issue with the XK8/XKR that bothers me. The dealer states it is a tire issue but I'm not so sure I believe them. I want to buy a XKR but don't want to be annoyed by the steering wheel bouncing around slightly at 70 MPH. What are everyone's experiences?
